Very nice

Good relaxing melody. This would indeed be a good menu music, but without the hihats because those break the sequence of the loop. OR the song could continue after the hihats into a full song. But then after the hihats it should break out into some big echoing kick n snare drums. Also a flowing bassline would go well with it. And lots of violins and maybe some choirs. Hm, it would become a completely different song but I'd love it:)

SolusLunes responds:

Oooooh. Good ideas. Didn't think of putting the song in that direction... but now it makes sense.

I likey. I'll finish it how you suggested. :D

OWW

THE KICKS ARE SO TOO MUCH OW MY POOR HEADPHONES THEY NEARLY EXPLODED! Otherwise this is a very nicely done song, but please, less kicks. Some score explanation. Originality 5 cause it's a remix. Diversity... not too diverse but good, 7. Clarity 5 because of the kicks. Effort 7 cause you did not make your own melody but you chose the instruments nicely. Overall 6, mainly because of the kicks again. I also like to make monstrous kicks, but this goes a bit too far. Don't get me wrong, I like this piece but wrong kicks usually ruin a song for me.

DJ-RF responds:

yes i used the rong kick for that bit.....it sounded fine on my headfoens...but they are broken....maybe from da kick=P.....

im neva gonna use thatkic in any song ever agen=]..tnx for the review

Pretty good

I really like the march effects at the beginning. When the drums come in I thought it was going to be a jumpstyle song but it turns rather into breakbeat. But it's also very nice this way. Only it should be a bit longer and it could have some more melody instruments.

Check out my songs plz if you have time.

Yes'ir... Your advice has now been taken. I've always wanted to make this particular song better, but needed more peoples opinions. So thanks for helping out there.

Grand

Awesome and epic song, just two problems: it should have some big banging drums, with lots of echo to increase the storm-feeling, instead of these. They r just too soft. The other thing, maybe it's just me but the volume somehow seems to vibrate, some sounds are sometimes quieter, sometimes louder, I don't like that, it sounds weird.
Btw those snare rolls are totally insane and some of the best I've ever heard.

madboss responds:

This song is a reaaaly old one - I've mad it with FL.. I think about 2 years or 3 ago. I wasn't the best in finding the appropriate volume levels and compressors to tge track. I think the badly choosen compressor is the fault of the volume levels vibration.

And I know that I've choosen the wrong drumbeats for this one - and the bass is too soft I think. But this song is past. Still thanks for your rev and your points and I'm glad you liked it!

Victory? Not completely

Lusta vagyok most kétszer leírni ugyanazt, úgyhogy át is váltok angolra:) It does not sound like a march. The beginning is really not victory-like, as the others said. I imagined an army, just defeated, they have been caught unprepared and suffered terrible losses. They are recooperating and mourning the fallen. This mood continues nearly all over the song, but when the drums come in at the end it sounds like they are taking a merciless but justified revenge, in honor of their fallen brothers. Only that's when it sounds like victory, and even then it's kinda bittersweet.
Now the technical opinion: I think you could have put in some slower quieter drums through the whole song and then switch into faster louder ones at the victory part. Other than that it's perfect. I really like it, though it's not really my kind of song, I prefer the march-sounding classical songs.

madboss responds:

Yeah I know. When I made that malody I thought - hm... it sounds like a hardly claimed victory so why not ginig this title to it? But yes, I had to realise after the first reviews that I had wrong. What you're saying with the drums is quite interesting - I'll try this in another song. I'm glad that you liked it! So thanks for your review and your points!

Hm

Nice calm AMBIENT piece. Coz this is not dnb. (Hey everyone, I'm not trying to be mean or smarty but Drum n Bass does not mean a song that consists mainly of drums and bass! Drum n Bass is usually a fast song with chaotic drums and a lot of bass and other stuff like melodies and lyrics.) Erm, back to this song. It's good for relaxing, but it's kinda repetitive, and you should add some more sounds. Maybe the bass could switch into a rough one after some time, too.

That's good to know lol. it is repetitive and I meant it to be like that but PM me so i can add more things upon request for you. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Ok, but..

...where did the drums go? Trance needs biiiig drums. All I can hear is a 'puh puh'. Otherwise the song is real nice, but get some drums for god's sake!

Kid2Will responds:

yeah, i guess im not that great at the beat stuff, and i cant seem to find one i like on FL yet, but ill keep trying.

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Maybe I'm just deaf but isn't this entirely RMB's Break The Silence??? I think it is. Wait, I'm sure it is. There are 2 possibilities. You accidentally clicked the wrong file when submitting. Or you put this here on purpose and thought ppl wouldn't recognise it? (if not I'm sorry for accusing) Either way, Remoove!

DJExcalibur responds:

yeh no shit i did actually upload the worng file or converted the wrong one to MP3. i'll remove it straight away.

Interesting song

But where R the drums? This kind of song needs those... um how to say this dammit even english is not good enough for describing music:) so those big hard drums that sound like 'bwash bwash', if you know what I mean, lol. Apart from that this is a very nice one, the melody is really unpredictable, but that's a good thing, it makes the song more original.

Everlasting-Elements responds:

I'm not too good with percussion...I need to study some more before I post again huh?

Thumbs up

I guess it can be called ambient trance. It really gives you the image of flying above the sea and the sunrays flickering on the surface... I really love that first arp (or what) but the one that comes in last is too basic(the standard Chasse preset of Sytrus in fl, I guess). Still, this is a very good song. Downloaded!

JVUnderground responds:

The last one is not a chasse hahah but it is a type of arp, but I guess I could have tweeked with it a bit

Oh and the name. This is how I got it: At the end of the song the theme seemed a little Chinese to me, so I associated it to Dragons :P. Obviously sky and dragon are 2 elements of a same set.
